About Yaima Paez Alcantara (Available Full-Time; Miami Area)
Yaima, although not currently in the construction industry, wants an opportunity to reenter and build a career. Her father is a civil engineer in Cuba. She worked for a small, Doral, FL, based contractor for a year, in 2018/19, part time assisting with estimating take-offs and contract administration. She does read plans. Unfortunately, they did not have enough work to hire her full time so she stayed employed at her current employer. Her current employer is a client of the company she worked with in Cuba who brought her to the US to be a liaison between the Travel Agency in Cuba and the business here that works with the Cruise lines for travel packages. She is the package estimator and handles all the logistics for the Miami office servicing Norwegian Cruise Lines. She lives in Coral Gables and currently works in Mid-town, Miami. She currently earns 45K per year for a base salary. Although she makes bonus and has stock incentive, she will make a lateral move on her base to enter the construction industry full-time. Yaima is hoping to start as a preconstruction or project coordinator.
