Construction Administrator- Preconstruction and Estimating Department

We are currently seeking an Estimating Coordinator for one of our clients working out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. This position is responsible for the administrative coordination of the construction bid process and assisting the Chief Estimator and Estimating team with communications and administration associated with the projects for the company prior to commencement of construction. The contractor does Commercial Projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration and tracking of bids.
  • Review plans with an estimator for trade selection and plan breakout; log subcontractors selected by estimator for each trade.
  • Generate bid invitations, contact subcontractors to secure bids, log responses, issue plans and specifications of project.
  • Maintain and update the bidding database.
  • Provide weekly status reports.
  • Research on products and vendors
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • College Degree a plus, but not required.
  • Construction experience Required – Minimum 1 year in Estimating Department.
  • Excellent phone manner and organizational skills required.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite and Formal Estimating software a plus
