Construction Estimator
Construction Estimator Responsibilities:
- Review architectural drawings, structural drawings, specifications and addenda for the project.
- Evaluate and determine the scope of work.
- Perform Materials and unit’s takeoff.
- Communicate well with customers, vendors.
- Request for quotations from vendors.
- Review vendor’s quotes for accuracy.
- Review project construction schedule.
- Estimate field and shop labor hours required.
- Prepare a complete and accurate cost estimate for the project using estimate cost sheets.
- Prepare the proposal utilize the company’s form and standard documents and all required documents from the GCs.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Report directly to the Director of Sales and Estimating.
Construction Estimator Requirements:
- 5+ years’ work experience in Estimating in commercial glass industry.
- Experienced in curtainwall, storefront, window wall and entrance doors.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Well organized and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Have the right to work in the US.
Construction Estimator Education:
- College education and/or related engineering or construction experience preferred.
Construction Estimator Skills & other requirements:
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office.
- Proficient in MS Excel, including basic formula writing and understanding.
- Demonstrate ability to deal with customer.
- Organization skills, follow-up and efficiency skill required.
