• Ways to give back

In today's world it is easy to get wrapped up in getting through the tasks at hand and budget for those tasks without setting aside time and resources to help others.

Some of those ways to make a difference are:

  • Mentor a young professional in our industry;

  • Join an Association and get involved in a committee;

  • Teach at one of the Industry related schools (call us for more information);

  • Attend some of the many industry related charity events;

  • Encourage people to work in our industry;

  • Donate to an industry educational program or charity time and/or money;

  • Show and speak your thankfulness for the opportunity to work in the Construction Industry.

When business becomes more than constructing buildings and making money than you can make a big difference in what might seem the most insignificant of ways. While you're making a difference you might end up getting an added blessing for yourself by making a new contact, learning a new task, discovering a new passion or just feeling good about what you're doing.

Some people think that the time for philanthropic pursuits is late in life. But the best time to start giving back to the industry and community is while you're young. By getting involved at a young age you have more time to reach out in many ways to discover how to focus your energy on things you care about and learn how to leverage your passion and creativity.

Bringing together your money, time, and expertise can be a very effective and very satisfying way to give back. Thank you to those of you that already give so much to our industry and thank you to those that will take the initiative to call us and see how you can get involved.

To honor active US military personnel, Adopt A US Soldier is a volunteer-based program that connects supportive Americans with deployed soldiers and offers a channel by which to communicate encouragement and express gratitude to the brave men and women serving our nation.

“Adoption” is as easy as writing letters or as involved as sending care packages.  Your level of participation is entirely up to you. However, a weekly letter to your soldier will give them the added morale they so deeply need!

Possible care package items you can include are: non-perishable snacks, Girl Scout cookies, raisins or other dried fruits, granola bars or protein bars, candy, nuts, handy wipes, lip balm, disposable cameras, batteries, CDs, DVDs, MP3 Players, international phone cards, powdered drinks, chips and salsa, skin lotions, sunscreen, toiletry items, all types of reading material, crossword puzzles, stationery or postcards.

Word 2007:

Work with documents created in earlier versions

Play Demo Demo button

(You may experience a delay while the demo is loading.

Work with documents created in earlier versions of Word

Working with a document created in a previous version of Word is easy in Microsoft Office Word 2007. You can open an earlier document in Office Word 2007 and then work in Compatibility Mode to leave the document in the earlier format. That way you can continue to share the document with people who aren't using Word 2007. Or you can convert it to Word 2007 format to take full advantage of the new features in Word 2007, such as document themes, SmartArt graphics, pull quotes, and smaller file size. Just make your changes and then save the document, and you'll be able to choose what file format to save in.

Watch the demo to see what to expect when you open Word documents from earlier versions in Word 2007.
